Our goal is to create a solid event and ticket platform that can be used by anyone without prior training, that is available on multiple devices and can be scaled globally in the same way as our sister company GatewayAPI.
Today, live/BACKEND v20 is now out in an alpha version. We have been a little reluctant to release the version to the public because we made a major change in one of the system’s core technologies recently. It set us back a bit in the short term, but has strengthened the platform and made us even more confident that the foundation of the platform is as future-proof as possible.
Features
We have now launched our alpha version 2 to the public. The features are a long way from what the current live/BACKEND version offers, but is nonetheless a huge step in the right direction.
In the current alpha version 2 you can:
- Create content types (“Content Builder”).
- Create content (e.g. events, venues, etc.).
- Create lists with self-selected columns.
- Configure the left menu
Our roadmap for the near future includes:
- Advanced searches in lists (new concept!)
- “Public links” (new concept!)
- New version of Ticket (new concept!)
- Calendar view
- Duty roster planning
- Print builder
- iPhone, iPad and Android apps
- User and access management
Advanced list search
Today, there are limited options for performing searches in the lists. The new version will be better in this regard. It will be possible to search in all fields in a content type in an easy way as well as to save one’s searches for future use.
Public links
It will be possible to select fields from existing content types, e.g. event type and then create a public link to enable a third party to enter the details. Once entered, you will be able to approve/reject entries. It will be possible to link to existing content as well as generating links to create e.g. new events.
New version of Ticket
We have started working on a completely new version of live/BACKEND Ticket as well. We are currently in the planning phase and are about to hire two additional developers for this purpose. The development will start soon when the last pieces of the puzzle are in place. Basically, in the next version we will do away with the idea that we sell tickets “with accessories”, and instead think of it as a “webshop”.
We will enable users to buy tickets to several events at the same time, buy memberships and gift cards in one go. We believe that the new approach opens up for an even simpler and more uniform ticket system, which at the same time has much higher flexibility, allowing you to sell “products” much more freely than today.
New version
Our current plan to release the new live/BACKEND universe, with a new version of both Event and Ticket, is set to Summer 2021, where we will start inviting customers to use it. This version will initially lack some critical features depending on the customer, and therefore no customers will be forced into our new versions until they are ready for it. Until then, the current versions will be active parallelly with the new ones.
